WEST PALM BEACH, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2023) — A man died after a high speed crash near the entrance of PBIA.

The deadly crash happened near the entrance to Palm Beach International Airport early on Sunday, October 1st, 2023.

A man, who has not yet been identified, was driving a Hyundai Genesis south on Congress Avenue. As the man reached Belvedere Road, he continued at a high speed without stopping at the red traffic signals. While crossing the intersection, he continued onto the entrance of Palm Beach International Airport, which curves to the right.

Due to the high speeds, the man was unable to navigate the curve and ended up driving onto the median and crashing into a large tree. During the crash, the vehicle slightly rotated before coming to a stop near the tree. Unfortunately, the man was not wearing a seatbelt and suffered severe injuries. Tragically, the man was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency personnel from Palm Beach County Fire Rescue. It is suspected that alcohol or drugs may have influenced the man’s actions or lack thereof.
