Court records show a Delray Beach man accused of firing toward officers during a search warrant operation was first sought by detectives attempting to serve a DNA warrant that led to a high-speed chase through southern Palm Beach County.
A Delray Beach man accused of fleeing a DNA warrant traffic stop at more than 100 mph through Palm Beach County was later arrested after a SWAT standoff at his home.
Delray Beach Police said a 56-year-old man was arrested after barricading himself inside a Palm Forest Drive South home and firing multiple gunshots toward officers serving warrants.
A man died after being shot inside his Delray Beach home early Friday, and detectives are still working to identify and locate the suspect.
Delray Beach police say drivers will not start getting $100 civil fines on Jan. 12 as originally planned, and a new enforcement date has not been set yet.
