MANALAPAN, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2023) —  7 immigrants apprehend and 460 pounds of marijuana seized after migrant boat lands on Manalapan beach.

A quiet beach on Manalapan was an unusually chaotic scene on Wednesday, September 11th, 2023, when a boat full of immigrants and marijuana landed.

At around 2;30 pm, a total of seven individuals, both males and females of Haitian descent, were found and apprehended at different spots along South Ocean Ave in Manalapan. They were then handed over to the U.S. Border Patrol Agents present at the scene. Additionally, law enforcement officers discovered approximately 460 pounds of marijuana from the vessel and handed it over to narcotics agents from PBSO.

Shortly after 9;30 am, deputies were dispatched to assist Manalapan PD in response to a group of migrants landing in the 1600 block of S. Ocean Blvd., Manalapan. Nine immigrants were observed fleeing from the beached boat. As of now, seven individuals have been located while deputies suspect that the other two may be hiding nearby, leading them to continue their search.

Ultimately, Border Patrol will assume responsibility for further investigation.
