Palms West Hospital NICU Personnel Attacked

LOXAHATCHEE, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2023) — Kendra Greene of Loxahatchee is in jail after stabbing staff members trying to prevent her from taking her 3-day-old baby from the NICU.

PBSO says that deputies responded to a stabbing at Palms West Hospital. Upon arrival, deputies learned that the suspect, Kendra Greene, entered the NICU unit and removed her three-day-old infant. Several hospital staff members attempted to intervene as she was attempting to leave the hospital with the infant. Kendra produced a knife and ultimately injured three staff members.

Kendra dropped the infant off to a family member and fled before the Deputies arrived. The infant was transported back to Palms West by PBCFR, where she is reportedly in stable condition.

All three staff members received treatment for non-life-threatening injuries and were discharged the same evening.

Kendra Greene was located and arrested for the following charges:

  • CRUELTY TOWARD CHILD – AGGRAVATED CHILD ABUSE
  • AGGRAV BATTERY – PERSON USES A DEADLY WEAPON
  • BATTERY – TOUCH OR STRIKE
  • RESIST OFFICER – OBSTRUCT WO VIOLENCE

Many Boca Post readers have suggested Postpartum psychosis as a possible explanation for why this mother would commit violence to remove her baby from the care of the NICU. What are your thoughts? Comment below.
