LAKE WORTH BEACH, FL (Boca Post) — A man is dead after being hit by a car while he was crossing N. Dixie Hwy near 5th Ave North in Lake Worth Beach.

The accident occurred last night at 9:22 PM.

A description from PBSO’s accident report is found below:

V-1 was traveling northbound on N. Dixie Highway, within the outside lane of travel, approaching the intersection of 5th Ave. North.

P-1 was attempting to cross N. Dixie Highway, from east to west, within the intersection of 5th Ave. North.

As V-1 approached the intersection, P-1 darted into the roadway and was immediately struck by V-1.

During the collision the front of V-1 impacted P-1, subsequently vaulting him into the air and onto the roadway. P-1 came to final rest within the outside northbound lane of N. Dixie Highway, just north of the area of the collision.

P1 was transported to St. Mary’s Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.
