Spider-Man Robs Woman Leaving Hollywood Laundromat

HOLLYWOOD, FL (Boca Post) — A 58-year-old woman was attacked and robbed outside of a laundromat but a man dressed up like Spider-Man.

Hollywood Police say they have arrested Spider-Man, sort of. A 36-year-old man named Lequan Payne, not Peter Parker, was in full Spider-Man garb while riding his bicycle near a laundromat at 1410 N. Federal Highway in the City of Hollywood, FL. A laundromat customer told Payne she liked his outfit and wanted to take his picture to which he cooperated and then left the laundromat at 7:45 PM.

Later, after the 58-year-old woman was done with her laundry, she was walking toward her friend’s house when she says she was hit on the back of the head. After falling to the ground, the victim says $45 dollars fell out of her pocket. The victim says she observed the man, dressed as Spider-Man, take the cash and then flee. The victim then walked back to the laundromat and called 911.

Responding Hollywood Police officers were able to locate a man riding a bicycle dressed up like Spider-Man wearing yellow shoes and shorts. The man was stopped by Hollywood Police and arrested. The victim positively identified the man dressed up like Spider-Man who was later arrested for robbery.

Lequan Payne is currently in the custody of the BSO jail while facing unarmed robbery and resisting without violence charges.
