HOLLYWOOD, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2023) — A Hollywood FL woman was arrested for aggravated animal abuse after leaving her dog in her car for more than 20 hours.

Detectives with the Hollywood FL Police Department have arrested 27-year-old Sasha Koval for aggravated animal abuse after finding out that she left her dog in her truck for more than 20 hours.

On June 22nd, 2023, Hollywood Police responded to the 1800 block of Rodman Street to investigate an animal neglect call where they found a deceased brindle Pitbull on the floorboard of a truck.

Following an investigation, on July 7th, 2023, HPD arrested Sasha Koval for aggravated animal abuse for her actions. Koval admitted that she intentionally left the dog in her truck while she went to work overnight on June 18th, 2023. Koval said that after she got home from work, she left the dog in the truck. When she woke up the following afternoon, she said she found that her dog was deceased.

The dog was left in the truck for about 20 hours, detectives say.

Koval was charged with Aggravated Animal Cruelty and booked at Broward County Main Jail and has since been released.
