FLORIDA (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — A Florida Silver Alert has been issued for an 83-year-old woman reported missing from Lady Lake in Lake County, according to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.
FDLE identified the missing person as Joan Carls. She is described as a white female, 83 years old, with gray hair and brown eyes. FDLE listed her height as 5 feet, 3 inches and her weight as 200 pounds.
The last known area provided in the alert is Lady Lake, in Lake County. The Silver Alert is a statewide notification used to help locate missing older adults, and it relies on the public to watch for someone matching the description and to report tips quickly.
Authority for the investigation and follow-up sits with local law enforcement in the area where the person was last known to be. In this case, FDLE’s alert directs anyone with information to contact the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.
Residents who may travel through Central Florida, have family in Lake County, or work in areas where visitors pass through should be aware of the description and the last known area. The most important thing for the public is to report information directly to law enforcement, not to try to handle it themselves.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Lake County Sheriff’s Office at 352-343-2101 Ext. 4 or call 911.
