UPDATE: The Florida Department of Law Enforcement has canceled this Silver Alert. You can view the FDLE cancellation notice here.

FLORIDA (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — A Florida Silver Alert has been issued for an 80-year-old man reported missing from Bradenton in Manatee County, according to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.

FDLE identified the missing person as Richard Cormier. He is described as a white male, 5 feet 9 inches tall, about 140 pounds, bald, with brown eyes.

FDLE listed his last known area as Bradenton, Manatee County. The alert is intended to help law enforcement and the public quickly share information that could help locate him.

The Manatee County Sheriff’s Office is the agency handling tips. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office at 941-747-3011 or call 911.

For residents in South Florida, the key point is simple: Silver Alerts can travel fast across county lines as people move around the state, and the public’s eyes can matter. If you believe you have seen someone matching the description, call law enforcement and report what you saw and where.

FDLE’s official flyer for this Silver Alert is posted online at http://www.fdle.state.fl.us/MCICSearch/Flyer.asp?ID=510688.
