FLORIDA (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — A Florida Missing Child Alert has been issued for a 14-year-old girl reported missing from Homestead, according to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.

FDLE identified the child as Yarilis Mendez-Carrillo, 14, and said she was last known to be in the Homestead area in Dade County.

FDLE’s alert lists her as a white-Hispanic female with black hair and brown eyes. She is described as 4 feet, 7 inches tall and weighing 130 pounds.

The alert is part of the state’s missing child notification system, and it puts the case in front of a wider audience beyond the immediate area. For South Florida residents, it means law enforcement is asking the public to be alert and to report information quickly, especially in a region where people move between cities and counties every day.

Authority for the investigation sits with local law enforcement. FDLE’s flyer directs anyone with information to contact the Homestead Police Department.

Anyone who has information is asked to call the Homestead Police Department at 305-247-1535 or call 911.

FDLE’s official flyer is posted online at http://www.fdle.state.fl.us/MCICSearch/Flyer.asp?ID=510019. Residents who believe they have seen the child or have information tied to the case are being asked to contact police rather than post tips publicly, so details can be checked and acted on directly.
