DELRAY BEACH, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — Delray Beach police are investigating a fatal overnight shooting that left an adult man dead inside his home in the city’s northwest neighborhood.

Police said officers were dispatched at 12:01 a.m. Friday after receiving multiple 911 calls reporting shots fired in the 500 block of Northwest 5th Court. When officers arrived, they found an adult male who had been shot inside his residence, according to the Delray Beach Police Department.

The man was taken to a local hospital, where police said he died from his injuries.

Police described the victim as not involved in the shooting, though investigators have not released details about who the intended target may have been or what led up to the gunfire. The department has not identified the victim publicly.

Detectives are now working to track down the person responsible. Police said investigators are actively searching for the suspect and are following up on leads. As of Friday, no arrests had been made.

The shooting occurred in a residential area, and the department has not provided any description of the suspect or information about a possible vehicle. Police also have not said whether there were any known connections between the victim and the shooter, or whether the suspect is believed to be from the area.
