DELRAY BEACH, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — The Ocean Rescue division of Delray Beach Fire Rescue named Alicia Warren and Steve Tramonte as their 2025 Lifeguards of the Year because of their work to protect the city beaches and perform public safety responsibilities.
The announcement was made by Delray Beach Fire Rescue, which oversees ocean rescue operations along Delray Beach. The award recognizes staff members who demonstrate excellence through their work conduct and their dedication to serving their department and community.
Warren has served as a full-time lifeguard with Delray Beach since 2018. The department states that she executes tasks which go beyond her standard tower responsibilities to help Ocean Rescue maintain readiness and increase team morale.
Warren served as Ocean Rescue division representative at lifeguard competitions which took place at local and regional and national levels during 2025. She achieved third place overall by earning top three positions in all the events which made her one of the top competitors in the competition. The department proved through this operation that their team members had both the necessary skills and dedication which made them the best rescue experts in their field.
Warren performs two vital tasks at Ocean Rescue headquarters because he establishes a protected area which maintains perfect cleanliness and joyful atmosphere. The Fire Rescue officials stated that she runs the unit operations on a daily basis while she works to improve team spirit and keep the organization running smoothly.
Warren participates in the Junior Lifeguard program of the city which focuses on teaching ocean safety and rescue techniques to young participants. The department recognized her commitment to lifeguard development because she provided instruction which helped students achieve the professional requirements for lifeguards.
Tramonte, the second honoree, was hired by the city in 2014. He spent his time as a full-time lifeguard before he began his work in fire rescue. Despite that shift, he continues to work with Delray Beach as a part-time lifeguard.
Fire Rescue officials described Tramonte as bringing experience, professionalism, and a consistently positive attitude to each shift. His experience in ocean rescue and fire rescue has established him as a reliable beach presence who can handle situations which need marine and emergency response teams to work together.
