DEERFIELD BEACH, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — Some Deerfield Beach residents are dealing with a water shutoff today.

The city is in the middle of scheduled utility work near Quiet Waters Park, installing new valves in an existing water main. It’s routine work, but it comes with a temporary loss of service.

Water outages are scheduled for today, Tuesday, Jan. 6, and again Wednesday, Jan. 7. Each day, service is expected to be off from about 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., give or take.

The affected area includes SW 4th Street between SW 35th Avenue and SW 32nd Avenue. Two nearby side streets are also impacted: SW 34th Terrace and SW 33rd Terrace, both running between SW 3rd Street and SW 4th Street.

This is a small residential pocket just east of Quiet Waters Park.

There will also be some daytime disruption on the roads. Utility crews and equipment are set up along SW 4th Street and nearby intersections, and drivers are asked to follow posted traffic controls while moving through the work zone.

No boil-water notice has been issued in connection with the valve installation. The city hasn’t said whether service could come back before 4 p.m. on either day, only that the outages are planned within that timeframe.

If issues come up during the work, residents can contact Deerfield Beach Environmental Services. The business-hours number is 954-250-4305. After-hours calls can be made to 954-250-4373.

It’s an inconvenience, but a temporary one. City officials say the work is necessary to keep the local water system reliable, and they’re asking neighbors for patience while crews finish the job.
