DANIA BEACH, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2024) — The Broward Sheriff’s Office Traffic Homicide Unit detectives are looking into a collision that resulted in the death of a cyclist, in Dania Beach last Sunday evening.

During the inquiry it was found that Leona Suissa was behind the wheel of a 2018 emerald Nissan Altima heading west on Stirling Road near the intersection, with Southwest 37th Avenue. As the Nissan neared Southwest 37th Avenue a cyclist crossed Stirling Road heading south towards Southwest 37th Avenue.
Detectives reported that the cyclist moved into the lanes heading west and was hit by the Nissan vehicle which then abruptly stopped and got hit from behind in a rear end collision, by David Keiser driving a 2008 Toyota Corolla.

The Hollywood Fire Rescue team arrived at the scene. Took the cyclist to Memorial Regional Hospital, where he was tragically pronounced dead.

Investigators state that neither speeding nor impairment, by the Nissan driver are believed to have played a role in causing the accident.

The inquiry is ongoing.
