The authorities in Florida are looking into an incident involving a deputy shooting that took place on Monday night in Deerfield Beach area specifically around 7;07 p.m.. It all started with a 911 call received by Broward County Regional Communications about a woman displaying behavior on the sidewalk close, to South Federal Highway and Southeast 10th Street intersection waving a knife and stabbing a large black bag inside a shopping cart as reported by the caller. When the deputies from Broward Sheriffs Office reached the location they found a woman holding two knives that were around 18 inches long. As, per the investigators report when a BSO deputy stepped towards the woman she advanced towards him swinging the knife overhead. The deputy tried to calm the situation down and asked her to put down all her weapons. She did not follow his instructions and kept moving towards the deputy with a knife in hand which led him to shoot her with his gun in self defense. Shortly after that happened more deputies. Tried to save her life by performing CPR until the Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue team arrived. Unfortunately the woman was pronounced dead at the scene. No other individuals were harmed during this event. The details surrounding the shooting are still being looked into. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) is leading the investigation, on this matter. In accordance, with BSO regulations the officer who discharged his firearm has been reassigned to duties while further inquiries are conducted.
