A swarm of deputies and resources from the Broward Sheriffs Office converged on a West Park home on Friday, August 22 in a display of authority. The move was a response to a stream of complaints about violent incidents, drug deals and threats against law enforcement at the address. At the forefront of the operation was the BSO West Park District Crime Suppression Team, which obtained a search warrant for the property. Inside detectives uncovered a staggering haul; over 1,000 grams of cannabis more than $5,200, in cash and seven guns. As part of the crackdown four vehicles were also. Impounded.Three men, Bruce Ceasar, Terrick Murray and Santos Diaz were taken into custody. Now face charges related to possessing and planning to sell cannabis. Ceasar is also in trouble for getting in the way of law enforcement officers when they came to search the place while Diaz has been accused of having equipment used for drugs. This all started when deputies from the Broward Sheriffs Office showed up at the residence on July 4th after getting a call, about gunfire. The scene was chaotic. There was a angry crowd and the deputies were met with threats of violence as soon as they got there. The investigation that followed revealed a pattern. Drugs were indeed being sold on the property. Neighbors had grown wary. With good reason as detectives soon discovered. The residence had become a hub of activity casting a long shadow of fear over the surrounding neighborhood. When the time came to act a robust team of law enforcement officers swung into action. Units from across the board were pulled in including teams from different districts experts in gang investigations a threat intelligence officer, K 9 handlers, helicopter and drone support SWAT team members and a special task force dedicated to tackling violent crime. Even a watch commander was on hand to oversee the operation. Together they worked to bring a sense of calm back, to the neighborhood.
