BSO Investigates Deadly Miramar Crash

BROWARD COUNTY, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2024) — BSO is investigating a fatal Miramar crash that happened on Tuesday, September 10th, 2024.

The Broward Sheriff’s Office Traffic Homicide Unit detectives are looking into a collision in Miramar that led to the passing of a man, from Miami.

Around 2;05 in the morning on Tuesday the 10th of September law enforcement officers from the Miramar Police Department arrived at the scene of a car collision at the intersection of South State Road 7 and County Line Road in Miramar. The Miramar Fire Rescue and Miami Dade Fire Rescue teams also came to assist. Medical personnel took 49 year Thierry Moreland, one of the drivers involved and a passenger named David Taylor aged 60 to two nearby medical facilities, for care. Taylor was tragically declared dead due, to the injuries he suffered in the accident.

During the inquiry it was found out that Darnell Cheathem was driving a 2019 black Nissan Sentra southbound on South State Road 7 towards County Line Road as the second driver involved in the incident; simultaneously Morel was driving a 2004 GMC Yukon also heading southbound on State Road 7, towards County Line Road as well. According to detectives findings the Nissan stopped completely at the intersection. Was hit from behind by the GMC Yukon.

Miramar Police have asked BSOs traffic homicide detectives to look into the details of this crash with the help of investigators, from Miramar Police Traffic Homicide Unit.
