Three suspects who arrived in Fort Lauderdale from Baltimore Saturday morning missed their evening return flight; instead they landed in jail. Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies at Fort Lauderdale‑Hollywood International Airport nabbed two men and a woman after they had stuffed hundreds of dollars’ worth of designer fragrances into their bags during a raid on the duty‑free shops. When the trio later showed up at the airport that evening intent on catching a flight, to Baltimore with the stolen goods the deputies spotted them and moved in. One suspect made a break, for it shedding bags stuffed with perfume and sneakers as deputies gave chase. Within moments all three were ushered into custody. The trio—Javon Darrell Staten, William Arthur Manning and Rachael Manning—now confront theft and fraud charges. Staten also contends with accusations: resisting an officer without violence and breaching probation.
