The driver has been identified as 39-year-old Carlos Madeira Cardoso of Port Saint Lucie.

BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2024) — A man was killed by a hit-and-run driver in West Boca early on Saturday morning.

The crash happened just after 4 AM on Saturday, April 6th, 2024 at the intersection of Sandalfoot Boulevard and US-441.

A man, who PBSO has not yet identified, was near the northern pedestrian crosswalk at SR7 and Sandalfoot Boulevard in Boca Raton. A white GMC Arcadia traveling southbound on SR7 in the right lane collided with the pedestrian. The impact caused the man to be thrown onto the pavement and slide southward to rest at the intersection. The driver of the SUV, whose identity is still a mystery, did not stop but fled from the scene of the crash. The man was taken to Delray Medical Center where he passed away at 5;51 a.m. Due to injuries sustained in the accident.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office (PBSO) suspects that the SUV involved is an older model white GMC Acadia from around 2008, although it has not been found yet. If you have any information regarding this incident or details about the hit and run vehicle, please reach out to Investigator Robert Stephan #7240 at PBSO by calling 561-688-3400.
