BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) — Erick Hernandez of Boca Raton has been arrested and charged with Aggravated Battery w/ A Deadly Weapon, according to jail records released to Boca Post by the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.

Erick Hernandez, 21, of the 300 block of Spanish River Boulevard in Boca Raton, has been arrested early Sunday morning by the Delray Beach Police Department. Boca Post has been notified that the charge filed is “AGGRAV BATTERY – PERSON USES A DEADLY WEAPON”.

According to an arrest affidavit submitted by the Delray Beach Police Department, on Saturday, 8/13/2022, at approximately 10 PM, officers responded to the Target on Linton Ave in Delray Beach in reference to a domestic aggravated battery.

A Delray Beach Police Officer, who was already in the parking lot, says he observed a gray Honda Civic circle around the parking lot twice at a high rate of speed. He also observed the car run a stop sign. He then stated that he was approached by Faron, who stated that she was dragged by Hernandez’s car. The officer conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and separated both parties.

Erick Hernandez stated he and his girlfriend of 3 years, Faron Deegan, 22, were in an argument about their relationship when he pulled into the Target parking lot. Hernandez said he asked for Faron’s phone and observed a text message that was deleted which escalated the argument. Hernandez says that Faron then got out of the car and told him she would take an Uber to her mother’s house. Hernandez says that he then accelerated away from her when he realized she left her belongings in the car, so he returned to drop them off when he was stopped by a Police Officer.

Faron told police a slightly more violent story. Faron told Police she was in a verbal argument with Hernandez regarding their relationship while in his car. Faron stated that she texted her mother advising that she was going to break up with Hernandez. Faron stated that Hernandez snatched her phone from her hand and attempted to view the message. Faron stated that the message angered Hernandez and escalated the argument.

Faron requested Hernandez to stop the car, so she could get an Uber to ride back to her mother’s house. Hernandez then stopped the car in front of the target. Faron stated that she attempted to open the back door to Hernandez’s car to retrieve her belongings; he made eye contact with her, smiled and laughed, and accelerated the car at a high rate of speed in reverse. She stated that she was dragged from his car, which caused her to be injured.

Paramedics were called to the scene to treat Faron’s injuries and Hernandez was taken into custody. Hernandez was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail at 1:30 on Sunday morning and released the following day. Hernandez saw a judge in the morning who set his bond at $5,000 and ordered that he has no contact with the victim who lives with him.
