UPDATE: Fired Boca Raton Nurse Appeals Florida Emergency License Suspension
BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — The former Boca Raton nurse fired after a graphic social media video targeting White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt has posted a new follow-up video, escalating her message with profanity while a GoFundMe fundraiser promoted through a related apparel brand frames her termination as “retaliation” for political speech.
In the newer clip, the woman previously identified as Alexis “Lexie” Lawler, who uses the name “Lexie Laww” on social media, reacts to fallout from the earlier controversy by invoking a recent fatal incident in Minnesota and attacking critics for focusing on her language.
“So they just murdered a man in Minnesota… and you [expletive] are coming after me because I used bad language,” she says in the video, before adding: “I am on the right side of this.”
The video emerged as a GoFundMe campaign organized by “Unlawful Threads” seeks donations for what it describes as a legal defense effort following her firing. The fundraiser, titled “Help Lexie Lawler Fight Retaliation for Speaking Out,” argues that Lawler was terminated for political speech and says the money will go toward employment and civil rights counsel.
Fundraiser describes firing as “retaliation”
In the GoFundMe description, the organizer contends Lawler’s comments were made on personal social media, outside of work, and directed at a public figure rather than her employer. It characterizes the response as “right-wing backlash and online targeting” and says the campaign is intended to push back against “retaliation,” “silencing,” and “weaponized outrage.”
As of Monday morning, the campaign showed just over $4,000 raised.
The fundraiser has also been shared through posts tied to the “Unlawful Inc.” Facebook group and related social accounts promoting the donation link.
Social media group and brand promotion tied to the controversy
The follow-up video was posted to “Unlawful Inc.,” a Facebook group that appears to be administered by Lexie and her husband Tim Lawler, and is frequently used to drive engagement to merchandise and fundraising links connected to “Unlawful Threads”, a business owned by the West Boca couple.
The group’s feed includes political memes and posts attacking the Trump administration and immigration enforcement, along with repeated posts directing followers to donate to the GoFundMe campaign, organized by the Unlawful Threads.
Note Lexie Lawler and husband Tim Lawler are listed as Administrators of the Facebook. Additionally, Tim Lawler was registered as the owner of the Unlawful Threads LLC, according to state records.
Prior termination and official responses
The new video follows the earlier controversy that prompted Baptist Health South Florida to publicly state the individual in the original clip was no longer employed after a “prompt review,” and after Boca Raton Mayor Scott Singer posted that he contacted hospital leadership and was told the person in the video was no longer employed.
In the original video, Lawler used explicit language while describing childbirth injuries and directed a profane message at Leavitt.
Florida AG calls for license action
The controversy has now drawn commentary from Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier, who posted on X that the Florida Board of Nursing should revoke Lawler’s license.

As of publication, Boca Post has not seen any public notice from the Florida Board of Nursing announcing action in response to the attorney general’s post.
Additional comments circulate online
In separate online posts attributed to Lawler, she has also referenced immigration enforcement and told nurses, “Nurses only work in warm weather,” a line that has been interpreted in different ways by commenters online. Boca Post is not attributing a specific meaning to that statement beyond what is contained in the posts and public reactions.

Boca Post reached out to Lawler and to Unlawful Threads via publicly listed accounts for comment on the follow-up video, the fundraiser, and whether any legal action has been filed. Any response will be added if received.
