BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2024) — Felipe Soares De Moraes, 41, was killed after being struck by alleged DUI driver Thomas Vayianos on Sunday morning.

The deadly crash happened near Red Reef park along 1400 North Ocean Boulevard just after 7 AM on Sunday, December 15th, 2024. That is where Moraes was riding his bicycle in the bike lane when he was struck by an alleged drunk driver.

35-year-old Thomas Vayianos was arrested on Sunday morning at around 7 AM and he was charged with DUI Manslaughter.
The investigation revealed that the vehicle owned by Thomas Vayianos collided with a bicyclist who was heading north bound in the bicycle lane along the 1400 block of North Ocean Boulevard at about 7:00 a. m. The bicyclist, 41-year-old Felipe Soares De Moraes was pronounced dead at the scene. A witness told the police that just before the accident, a gray 2019 Chevrolet Equinox was seen veering into another lane.

The scene of the incident was also processed and investigated for DUI and based on the investigation Thomas Vayianos was arrested. If you have any information about this crash, please contact Traffic Homicide Investigator David Williams at (561) 982-4052.
