BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) — A local doctor has been arrested by the Boca Raton Police Department and charged with (Domestic) Battery on a person 65+.

Boca Post has been notified that the charge filed is “784.08(2C) BATTERY ON PERSON 65 YOA OR OLDER”.

According to an arrest affidavit submitted by the Boca Raton Police Department, officers responded to a domestic disturbance call at a luxury high-rise in Boca Raton, at approximately 2 AM on Thursday.

Officers only found a doctor who stated that while going to bed, she and the victim started to argue about mutual friends. The doctor told Police that the victim became angry and began to ask for his cell phone to leave the residence. The doctor then said that the victim grabbed her cell phone, and she forcefully took the cell phone back from him at that time. The doctor told Police that the victim left the apartment before the police arrived.

A BRPD officer then made contact with the victim at 700 W Palmetto Park Rd.

The victim stated that while going to bed, the doctor began arguing with him for no reason and called him “dirty”. The victim told police he decided to leave the residence to cool the situation down, and at that time, the doctor came up to him and scratched the inside of his left forearm, causing it to bleed.

Officers report that they observed blood on the left side of the victim’s bedside, consistent with the victim’s statements.

BRPD officers arrested the doctor for felony domestic battery. According to court records, The doctor was booked into the PBSO jail on Thursday morning where she was later released.

All charges, in this case, were later dropped by the Palm Beach County State Attorney due to a lack of evidence and/or uncooperative witness which is not uncommon in Palm Beach County.
