BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — Dirty Dining returns this week with a heavy local report for Palm Beach and Broward, where state records show nine emergency closures and 575 inspections tied to the current reporting cycle. Pest activity drove many of the closures.

In the inspection data, several restaurants in Boca Raton, Delray Beach, Boynton Beach and Coral Springs stood out for high-priority violations involving unsafe food temperatures, cross-contamination risks, sanitation issues and pest activity. The roundup is based on Florida DBPR inspection and enforcement records.

Emergency Closures: Palm Beach & Broward

Palm Beach and Broward accounted for nine of the 26 emergency closures listed in the statewide weekly file.

In Palm Beach County, inspectors ordered temporary closures at Blue Anchor in Delray Beach, Red Phoenix and Chinatown in Palm Beach Gardens, Campi Grab & Go in Delray Beach, and Jimmy C’s Italian Deli & Market in Boca Raton. State records list the reasons as combinations of rodent, roach and fly activity, with Jimmy C’s listed for roach activity.

In Broward, closures were recorded for Osmow’s Mediterranean in Sunrise, Georgie’s Alibi Monkey Bar Ptown FTL in Wilton Manors, Origen in Cooper City and Takato in Fort Lauderdale. Records show roach activity in several of those cases, while Georgie’s was listed for rodent activity and Takato for roach and fly activity.

Most of the local closure records show the business was later approved to reopen after follow-up action. Blue Anchor and Red Phoenix were cleared to reopen on March 17. Osmow’s Mediterranean and Campi Grab & Go were approved March 18. Takato was cleared March 19. Chinatown was approved March 20. Jimmy C’s was approved to reopen March 23. In the weekly closure file, Origen did not show a reopening time.

An emergency closure is not a disciplinary action. It is a temporary step inspectors use when conditions pose an elevated risk to the public or employees. The business stays closed until the underlying problems are corrected.

Other Florida Emergency Closures

Outside Palm Beach and Broward, the state’s weekly file listed 17 additional emergency closures.

Among them were China Lee in Orlando for roach and rodent activity, Churchs Chicken 10558 in Orlando for a sewage backup, and Hangry Joe’s Melbourne in West Melbourne for rodent activity. Several other closures around the state were tied to roach activity alone.

Inspections This Week: High-Priority Violations

Follow-up inspections later in the week still showed unresolved high-priority issues in the state data.

Disciplinary Orders: Palm Beach & Broward

The most recent disciplinary activity report available for this roundup was the February 2026 report, published March 4. Those cases lag inspections, but they show how earlier enforcement matters were resolved.

Among the more notable Palm Beach and Broward cases in the report:

Maggie McFlys in Boca Raton was listed with 4 violations from the original inspection and an $800 fine. The final order was signed Feb. 2, 2026. The listed violation date was Oct. 30, 2025.

BT’s Oceanfront in Deerfield Beach was listed with 4 original violations and an $800 fine. The final order was signed Feb. 9, 2026, with a listed violation date of Sept. 30, 2025.

Vale Food Company Boca in Boca Raton was listed with 3 original violations and a $300 fine. The final order was signed Feb. 18, 2026. The report lists the violation date as Aug. 1, 2025.

None of those disciplinary cases matched the biggest closure crossovers in this week’s inspection and emergency-closure files, but they offer a look at how past food-service violations in Palm Beach and Broward were resolved.
