Today’s Weather - Monday, February 16, 2026

BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — Boca Raton is starting Presidents Day with a small window for wet weather, then the rest of the day settles into the kind of bright, warm February you can actually feel on the sidewalk.

The National Weather Service forecast for the area around the Boca Raton Airport calls for a 20 percent chance of showers before 9 a.m. After that, skies trend mostly sunny with a high near 81. If you are driving the early shift along the I-95 corridor or cutting east on Glades Road toward the beach, that is the period to watch for a brief shower moving through and leaving damp pavement behind.

Winds will be part of the story. The forecast calls for a southwest wind around 11 mph early, then a switch to north in the afternoon. Gusts could reach 20 mph. That shift matters most if you are near the Intracoastal, out on the barrier island, or walking open areas where the breeze funnels. It is not a cold front kind of drop for Boca, but it is enough to make the air feel less sticky and to keep things moving.

The bigger concern today is at the coast. The Weather Service says there is a moderate risk of rip currents for all South Florida beaches today. If your plans include Boca’s oceanfront, treat the water with respect even if the sun is out and the air feels perfect. Rip current risk does not always match how calm the shoreline looks.

On the water, conditions are rougher than what most casual boaters want to deal with. Hazardous marine conditions are expected through late this morning over the Atlantic waters, with a Small Craft Advisory in effect until 11 a.m. The marine forecast for the coastal waters from Jupiter Inlet to Deerfield Beach notes south to southwest winds in the 20 to 25 knot range early, with seas 3 to 5 feet and occasional 6-foot sets. A chance of showers and thunderstorms is also mentioned early this morning over the Atlantic waters. Conditions ease later today as winds weaken and turn northwest, but the morning hours are not the time for inexperienced operators to test it.

Tonight looks quiet and comfortable. Skies stay mostly clear with a low around 65. North winds run 8 to 14 mph, still gusting as high as 20 mph at times, so it may feel breezy in more exposed neighborhoods west of the Intracoastal and out toward Lyons Road.

Current Advisories / Watches / Warnings

Small Craft Advisory until 11 AM EST this morning for Atlantic marine zones AMZ650, AMZ651, AMZ670, and AMZ671. Conditions include south winds 20 to 25 knots, and they will be hazardous to small craft. Inexperienced mariners, especially those operating smaller vessels, should avoid navigating in hazardous conditions.
