BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — Five restaurants in Palm Beach and Broward counties were ordered closed during the week ending Feb. 22 after inspectors documented conditions that required immediate action.
The closures were tied to issues including pest activity and lack of potable water. The findings come from Florida Division of Hotels and Restaurants inspection records.
An emergency closure is not a fine or a disciplinary order. It’s a temporary shutdown used when inspectors determine conditions pose an elevated risk to the public or to employees. The business remains closed until those problems are corrected and inspectors approve reopening.
Emergency Closures: Palm Beach & Broward
Four of the closures occurred in Palm Beach County, including two in Boca Raton.
Palm Beach Bagel (Boca Raton) was ordered closed after inspectors documented fly activity.
Cali Aji (Boca Raton) was shut down due to rodent activity.
Both locations were later cleared to reopen after follow-up inspections.
Elsewhere in Palm Beach County:
- Los Catrachos II (Greenacres) was closed after inspectors reported roach and fly activity.
- Dunkin Donuts 67 (West Palm Beach) was shut down for lack of potable water.
Each of those locations was also later approved to reopen.
In Broward County, one emergency closure was recorded:
- Moe’s Southwest Grill (Coral Springs) was ordered closed due to roach activity. The restaurant was later allowed to reopen.
Statewide, 26 emergency closures were recorded during the same reporting week. Outside Palm Beach and Broward, closure reasons included sewage backups, water supply issues, pest activity and other sanitation concerns requiring immediate correction.
