BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — Sunshine dominates today, but it will be a windy day with a steady northeast breeze and gusts that can top out around 30 mph. Highs reach the upper 70s, and the wind will make it feel cooler along the beach. Beach conditions remain hazardous with high surf and a high risk of rip currents along the Atlantic coast. Tonight stays breezy with partly cloudy skies and lows near 69
Boca Raton’s weather today is being driven by a classic “front has passed, high pressure builds in” setup. The National Weather Service says the cold front has pushed well south of South Florida, while strong high pressure expands across the Southeast U.S.
and Florida. That combination tightens the pressure difference over our area, and that’s why the wind is the main story today.
Expect northeast winds to increase through the morning and stay gusty into the afternoon. Gusts in the 25–30 mph range are likely, and the forecast notes that spots right along the Atlantic coastline can occasionally see even higher bursts.
Skies stay mostly sunny, and the air behind the front is drier, so rain chances are very low for Boca Raton. A few brief showers may linger farther south early, but any leftover activity should fade by late morning.
Boating and beachgoers should plan for rough conditions today. The marine forecast calls for northeast winds around 25–30 knots early, easing late, with Atlantic seas running 7–10 feet and occasionally higher.
Even the Intracoastal can be very rough in exposed areas, so small craft should avoid the open Atlantic while advisories are in effect. Along the coast, strong onshore flow is keeping a high risk of rip currents in place through midweek, and a High Surf Advisory is posted for the Palm Beach County coastline.
If you’re heading to the beach, stay out of the surf if you’re not an experienced swimmer and always swim near a lifeguard.
