Today's Weather - Wednesday, March 11, 2026

BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — Boca Raton starts the day quiet and warm, with sunshine expected and a high near 81. A steady southeast breeze will pick up late morning and afternoon, making it feel a bit more humid. Beachgoers should use extra caution: the rip current risk remains elevated along the Atlantic beaches today. Rain chances stay low today, then begin to increase Thursday afternoon and especially Friday into the weekend

South Florida is sitting in a classic “fair weather” setup this morning, and Boca Raton will feel it: high pressure over the western Atlantic is keeping the air stable and the sky mostly clear. The National Weather Service notes a strong ridge of warmer air aloft over the Florida Peninsula today into tonight, which acts like a lid and helps limit cloud growth.

That’s why today’s forecast stays simple—sunny, warm, and breezy—with Boca topping out around 81 and a southeast wind near 8–13 mph with higher gusts. Early this morning, patchy fog has been possible in inland and southwest Florida where winds briefly go light and humidity is high.

That’s less of a day-to-day issue right on the coast in Boca, but it’s a reminder that moisture is already in place. Changes begin Thursday as an upper-level disturbance approaches and nudges the ridge away.

At the surface, winds turn more southerly, pulling in warmer, more humid air. A cold front tries to move toward South Florida late Thursday, but the forecast discussion expects it to weaken and stall to our north, which limits the “push” needed for widespread storms.

For Boca Raton’s coastal waters (Jupiter Inlet to Deerfield Beach), expect southeast winds around 10–15 knots today and tonight with seas near 2 feet. The Intracoastal will run a moderate chop at times.

Winds turn southerly Thursday, with a chance of showers and a few evening thunderstorms. By Friday into Saturday, seas build offshore (around 3–5 feet at times, occasionally higher), which can make for rougher conditions for small craft and beach swimmers.

The NWS continues to highlight an elevated rip current risk for Atlantic beaches today; swim near lifeguards and avoid entering the water alone.
