Today's Weather - Sunday, March 8, 2026

BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — Sunshine is in control today with a high near 80 and a southeast breeze around 9 to 13 mph, occasionally gusting near 18 mph. A high risk of rip currents continues for Atlantic beaches through early this evening, so swimming is discouraged unless you’re near a lifeguard. A brief coastal shower can’t be ruled out early, but most neighborhoods stay dry. Tonight turns mostly clear and mild, with lows near 71

Boca Raton is set up for another warm, mostly quiet day as high pressure sits over the western Atlantic and a broad ridge of warmer air aloft remains over Florida, according to the National Weather Service forecast discussion. That pattern keeps our winds coming in from the east-southeast, but not as strong as the past several days.

The result: plenty of sun, a steady ocean breeze, and temperatures staying above normal for early March. Even with the sunshine, the onshore flow can still squeeze out a quick shower near the coast, especially overnight and around daybreak.

For Boca, the better odds are for a brief sprinkle early rather than a meaningful rain. Farther inland and toward Southwest Florida, the afternoon sea breeze can help spark a few showers or thunderstorms later today and again Monday, but that activity should focus away from the immediate east coast metro.

Patchy fog is also possible in the usual inland low-lying spots early this morning and again early Monday, mainly where winds go light overnight. Looking ahead, Tuesday and Wednesday stay mainly dry with continued warm afternoons in the low 80s.

For the Boca Raton coastal waters (Jupiter Inlet to Deerfield Beach), expect southeast winds around 10 to 15 knots today with seas 2 to 3 feet, creating a moderate chop on the Intracoastal. Tonight and Monday ease slightly with seas near 2 feet and lighter chop.

Beachgoers should factor in the high rip current risk along the Atlantic beaches through this evening, driven by the persistent onshore flow. Later in the week, marine conditions may deteriorate Thursday night as winds increase and seas build (especially offshore), and any thunderstorms could produce locally higher winds and rougher seas.

7 Day Outlook

  • Sunday: Sunny and warm with a high near 80. Southeast breeze 9–13 mph with a few higher gusts. High rip current risk at Atlantic beaches through early evening; most areas stay dry.

  • Tuesday: Sunny with highs around 81 and an easterly breeze. Comfortable morning, warm afternoon. Beach conditions remain a concern as rip current risk stays elevated even as winds ease.
  • Wednesday: Another mostly sunny, above-normal day near 81. Southeast winds pick up a bit with occasional gusts. Dry weather continues, with warm evenings and lows around the low 70s.
  • Thursday: Turning a bit more unsettled. Mostly sunny early, then a growing chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms (around 50%) with highs near 83. Keep an eye on late-day outdoor plans.
  • Friday: More clouds with lingering shower and thunder chances (around 30%), and slightly cooler air filtering in. Highs near 78 with a mild, breezy feel at times, especially near the coast.
  • Saturday: Partly sunny with another round of scattered showers and thunderstorms possible (around 40%). Highs near 79. Not a washout, but plan for brief downpours and lightning delays.
