BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — Mostly sunny and breezy today, with a high near 78 to 79 degrees and an east wind frequently gusting 25 to 30 mph. The beach will be hazardous, with rough surf and an extremely dangerous rip current setup along the Atlantic shoreline. Tonight stays mostly clear and windy, with lows around 69 and gusts that can push close to 30 mph. Rain is not expected, aside from the chance of a brief sprinkle early
Boca Raton’s weather today is being driven by a strong, broad area of high pressure stretched along the Eastern Seaboard, paired with a larger-scale dip in the jet stream over the western Atlantic. In plain terms: the atmosphere is arranged in a way that tightens the pressure pattern over South Florida, and that squeezes out a long stretch of gusty east winds.
The National Weather Service expects the strongest winds today, with frequent gusts around 25 to 30 mph and a few higher bursts possible. That matches the local forecast calling for sustained east winds in the mid-to-upper teens with gusts near 25 mph.
Winds ease a bit Monday, but it will still be breezy. Despite the wind, the air over the region is dry and stable, so the sky stays mostly sunny and rain chances are essentially near zero.
A quick, light sprinkle can’t be ruled out in the morning trade-wind flow, but meaningful rainfall is not expected. The main impacts are at the coast.
Boaters and beachgoers should plan for hazardous Atlantic conditions. A Small Craft Advisory is in effect through Monday morning, with east winds around 20 knots today and gusts up to 25 knots.
Seas run 5 to 7 feet offshore and can occasionally reach 9 feet, peaking tonight, with the roughest conditions in and near the Gulf Stream. Nearshore and intracoastal waters will be choppy to rough in exposed areas, especially today and tonight.
Along the Boca Raton coastline, the onshore wind and elevated surf support a dangerous rip current setup; avoid swimming outside guarded areas and don’t enter the water if you’re not a strong swimmer.

- Thursday: Mostly sunny and warmer, high near 81. Winds continue to relax. Humidity begins to creep up slightly, but most neighborhoods stay rain-free through the day.
- Friday: Mostly sunny and warmer again, high near 82. Late-week forecast uncertainty increases; a few quick morning showers near the east coast are possible, with limited afternoon activity inland.
- Saturday: Sunny to mostly sunny with highs near 82. If moisture returns late week, expect only spotty showers at most; otherwise, it stays dry with typical afternoon warmth.
Today’s Boca Raton Weather stays sunny and dry, but strong onshore winds will keep rip currents dangerous and Atlantic boating conditions rough.
