Today's Weather - Wednesday, March 4, 2026

BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — Mostly sunny and breezy today with a high near 79-80, but a quick shower can’t be ruled out this afternoon, especially closer to the beach. East winds will run around 10-15 mph with higher gusts, making it feel a bit windier than the temperature suggests. Tonight turns partly cloudy with a better chance of showers late, and an isolated thunderstorm is possible toward daybreak. The bigger story for the coast remains the surf: a high rip current risk continues along Atlantic beaches

Boca Raton’s midweek weather stays locked into a familiar pattern: warm, breezy, and mostly dry overall, but with occasional fast-moving showers that can pop up and move through quickly. The National Weather Service notes that leftover moisture in the region is still hanging around from an earlier front, while a large area of high pressure over the eastern U.S.

keeps pushing air in from the Atlantic. That steady east to east-northeast breeze is important locally because it focuses the best shower chances near the immediate east coast, including Boca Raton, while areas farther inland tend to see fewer showers.

For today (Wednesday), expect plenty of sun with intervals of passing clouds. A brief shower is possible this afternoon, but coverage should stay limited.

Temperatures top out near 79-80, which is seasonably warm, and the onshore wind will be noticeable with gusts that can reach the low 20s mph. Tonight, moisture and onshore flow continue, and rain chances increase compared to daytime.

Boaters and beachgoers should plan around persistent onshore winds and choppy conditions. The marine forecast for the Boca Raton area (Jupiter Inlet to Deerfield Beach) calls for east winds 15 to 20 knots today and tonight, with seas around 3 to 5 feet and occasional higher sets (up to 6 feet overnight).

Expect a choppy Intracoastal in exposed areas, especially during the afternoon breeze. Scattered showers are possible over the local waters, and an isolated thunderstorm can’t be ruled out late tonight into early Thursday.

Along the beach, the high rip current risk remains in place, so swimming is discouraged outside of guarded areas.

Current Advisories / Watches / Warnings

  • High Rip Current Risk through Friday evening for FLZ168-172-173.
  • Small Craft Should Exercise Caution (Atlantic coastal waters from Jupiter Inlet to Deerfield Beach out 60 NM).

7 Day Outlook

  • Wednesday (Mar 4): Mostly sunny and breezy. A brief coastal shower is possible mid-afternoon (20%). High near 79-80. East wind around 14 mph with gusts over 20 mph; rip currents remain dangerous.
  • Thursday: A few passing showers possible at times, with an isolated thunderstorm (30%). Mostly sunny overall with a high near 80-81. Breezy east wind continues; quick changes in sky conditions near the coast.
  • Friday: Mostly sunny with a small chance of a quick shower, mainly later day (20%). High near 80. Continued onshore breeze keeps the coast cooler than inland areas and maintains rougher surf conditions.
  • Saturday: Slightly higher rain chances return (30%), with a few showers and a possible afternoon thunderstorm. High near 79. Still breezy from the east; plan for brief wet periods rather than an all-day washout.
  • Sunday: Mostly sunny with a 30% chance of showers mainly after 1 p.m. High near 80. Winds ease a bit compared to earlier in the week, but the onshore flow still favors occasional coastal showers.
  • Monday: Sunny for much of the day with a 30% chance of passing showers. High near 80. Overall pattern remains steady: warm temperatures, onshore breeze, and quick-hit showers that come and go.
  • Tuesday: Mostly sunny with a 30% chance of showers and thunderstorms. High near 80. Keep an eye on the afternoon sky for a brief downpour or lightning, especially near the coast and over nearby waters.

Boca Raton Weather stays breezy and mostly sunny today with a few quick coastal showers possible and a high rip current risk along Atlantic beaches.
