BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — A Boca Raton man is in the Palm Beach County Jail after deputies arrested him Saturday on a felony child abuse charge tied to a domestic incident inside a home.

Jail records show Daniel Ricardo Herreradolande, 51, was booked into the Main Detention Center at 2:14 p.m. Jan. 3. He is charged with cruelty toward a child, abuse without great bodily harm, under Florida law.

According to a probable cause affidavit, deputies were called after a juvenile left the home and went next door for help. A neighbor made the call.

The juvenile told deputies the argument started in the kitchen while breakfast was being made. The affidavit says Herreradolande came up from behind, yelling, then pushed the juvenile to the floor. From there, things escalated.

The report says the juvenile was forced from the kitchen into the dining area, ending up on his back on the floor. He told deputies he tried to cover up with his arms and legs while Herreradolande crouched over him and punched him in the face with a closed fist, four or five times.

He said he didn’t fight back, just tried to push away. Each time he tried to get up, he was pushed back down, according to the affidavit.

Deputies wrote that the juvenile suffered swelling and pain to his mouth, including his lower lip and teeth. He reported bleeding from his mouth, and deputies said they observed swelling, minor cuts, and bleeding consistent with his statement.

After the physical altercation, the affidavit states Herreradolande opened a sliding glass door and demanded the juvenile leave the house. The juvenile told deputies his cell phone was taken during the incident, then he left and went to a neighbor’s home to get help.

Later that afternoon, deputies spoke with Herreradolande. He acknowledged a verbal argument near the kitchen and said the juvenile intentionally bumped into him, but denied striking him. He told deputies he only pushed back after being pushed.

Based on the juvenile’s sworn statement and the injuries observed, deputies said there was probable cause to arrest Herreradolande for child abuse under Florida Statute 827.03(2)(c).

Court records show Herreradolande appeared before a judge Sunday morning. Probable cause was found. Bond was set at $10,000, and the court issued an order prohibiting contact with minor children.

A public defender was appointed to represent him, and the case was assigned to circuit court.

The next court appearance is scheduled for Feb. 2, with an initial case conference set for Feb. 26.

As of the latest jail records, Herreradolande remained in custody. No release date listed.
