BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) — David Morrison of Boca Raton has been arrested for DUI and child neglect by the Boca Raton Police Department.

According to an arrest affidavit submitted by the Boca Raton Police Department, on 1/16/23 at 5:30 PM, someone called the Police about a blue truck swerving all over the place and slamming into a curb on Federal Highway. Officers responded to the area but did not observe the vehicle. That is when an officer went to the registered owner’s address. Upon arrival, the officer then saw the truck backing out of the driveway. The officer says he followed the truck and observed him violate several traffic laws, including driving in the bike lane, so a traffic stop was conducted.

The officer became suspicious of the driver, identified as David Morrison, when he gave the officer a tire repair bill instead of his vehicle registration. Morrison agreed to perform a series of roadside field sobriety tasks which later gave the officer probable cause to arrest him for driving while intoxicated. Morrison later refused to provide a breath sample.

The 7-year-old girl in the truck was later turned over to her mother who picked her up from the scene.

Boca Post previously reported on David Morrison when he was accused of assaulting a child at a Halloween party in 2021. Morrison was later found not guilty in that case.

Morrison was charged with the following:

  • 316.193(1) TCATS – DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE
  • 827.03(2D) NEGLECT CHILD WITHOUT GREAT BODILY HARM
