BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — A Boca Raton pizza shop drew a visit from Dave Portnoy this week as part of his widely followed Barstool Pizza Review — delivering a score that places the restaurant squarely in the “good pizza” category.

Portnoy stopped at Peter’s Pizzeria, one of several locations he sampled in a single day across the region. By the time he reached Boca Raton, he noted he was already deep into the run.

“I’m running out of gas. This is pizza review number eight,” Portnoy said on camera, adding that he was trying to complete nine stops in total.

The review follows the format familiar to his audience: a quick slice, a brief assessment, and a single score based on his “one bite” rule.

After tasting the pizza, Portnoy described it as “very good,” calling it a “good middle of the road” option before assigning a 7.5 rating.

The visit drew a noticeable crowd, with Portnoy remarking that the atmosphere felt like “high school just got out,” as onlookers gathered around during the review.

An employee at the restaurant spoke briefly with Portnoy during the stop, noting that the Boca location is one of multiple spots tied to the same ownership. The employee told Dave he should visit the Pompano Beach location where the owner, Peter, was making pizzas.

While not among the highest scores in Portnoy’s catalog, a 7.5 is generally considered a solid rating within the Barstool review scale, where most everyday pizzerias fall in the mid-to-high range.

The Barstool Pizza Review series has built a large national following, and appearances often bring increased attention to local businesses, particularly in the days following a review.

For Peter’s Pizzeria, the Boca Raton stop puts the restaurant on that national map — even if the verdict lands firmly in the middle of the pack.
