Mayck Minoche Arrested In Boca Raton. Loaded Gun In Pocket During Arrest.

BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) — 19-Year-Old Mayck Minoche was suspected of mail theft in Martin County which is the reason the South Florida Task Force (SFTF) arrested him in Boca Raton this week.

According to an arrest affidavit provided to Boca Post, Minoche had an active warrant out for his arrest for the mail theft in Martin County. While the crime may have happened in Martin County, Boca Post has learned that Minoche lives in Boca Raton.

Under a mutual aid agreement, Boca Raton Police Detectives were working with the task force to arrest Minoche who has ties to Boca Raton. Minoche was driving a blue BMW that was involved in the mail theft when detectives say they saw him at the Boca Raton KFC drive-thru. Investigators followed Minoche from KFC to 2500 N Federal Highway, an apartment complex known as 2500 Boca On Federal Apartments, where they observed him exit his BMW.

“As he exited the driver seat, I approached in an unmarked BRPD vehicle and clearly observed Minoche walking eastbound towards the north entrance to the building; I confirmed it was Minoche through his driver’s license photo. I exited my BRPD unmarked vehicle wearing a full outer ballistic vest with “Sheriff” clearly written on the front and back. As I approached him, I unholstered my BRPD-issued firearm and ordered Minoche to the ground. He immediately began jogging westbound, disobeying my lawful commands. He continued to jog towards where the vehicle was parked. I then continued to order him to stop and get on the ground as I approached him. He did not initially comply but eventually gave up and I approached closer. He complied and lay on the ground and Sgt. Wollschlager handcuffed him without incident.”

In a search of Minoche’s person, the officers discovered a .40 caliber Smith and Wesson handgun in his front right pocket. The weapon was loaded with 6 rounds in the magazine and 1 in the chamber. Officers note that the weapon was not secured in a holster, it was just in Minoche’s pocket. Officers later found out that the firearm was stolen out of Miami from an auto burglary.

Minoche also had several credit cards and identification cards on his person that did not belong to him, including some with false information altogether. A search of the car provided even more credit cards that did not belong to Minoche. Minoche was also in possession of an FAU Student ID which officers say is his.

Minoche is currently in PBSO jail with a bond set at $18,000. Minoche refused his first appearance on 6/2/22, but he still faces the following charges following his arrest:

  • 812.014(2C5) THEFT – GRAND THEFT (FIREARM)
  • 790.01(2) CARRYING CONCEALED FIREARM
  • 843.02 RESIST/OBSTRUCT OFFICER W/O VIOLENCE
  • 4 counts of 817.60(6B) POSSESSION OF STOLEN CC
  • 2 counts of 322.212(1) UNAUTHORIZED USE/POSSESSION

Investigators believe that Minoche is involved in a larger scale organization involving fraud.

Boca Raton Police Department tells Boca Post, that while it is the same task force, this case is not related to last week’s arrests of two Miami men for burglarizing vehicles at Boca Raton’s South Beach Park.
