Fernando Gaete Of Boca Raton Arrested By School Police, Charged With Written Intimidation

BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2023) — 22-year-old Fernando Gaete of Boca Raton arrested for threatening a mass shooting at Loggers Run Middle School.

Fernando Gaete, 22, of 2200 block of Boca Rancho Road in Boca Raton, has been arrested by the Palm Beach County School Police. Gaete was arrested by the PBC School Police following an investigation into a threat made on Discord.

Police say a user who goes by “Paul Allen” wrote the following on a Pokemon Go channel on Discord;

“I Dominic Valentine vow to shoot up Loggers Run Middle School on Monday morning gonna shoot 6 students.”

According to Gaete’s arrest affidavit, School Police Dispatch received a call from someone who flagged the threatening post on Discord. School Police worked with PBSO, who also had an active case for this incident, and identified the IP address as belonging to Gaete’s father.

Police went to Gaete’s home and spoke to Gaete, who admitted to posting the threat on Discord, because he was very angry. Gaete admits that he uses the alias “Paul Allen” on Discord.

While detectives note Gaete is a former student at Loggers Run Middle School, it is not immediately clear why he threatened to shoot 6 students at the school, or why he used the name Dominic Valentine.

Fernando Gaete was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail at 4:03 AM this morning. Gaete attended his fist appearance in front of a judge who ordered that he have no contact with Loggers Run Middle School, or any other school, for that matter. The judge also ordered that Fernando have no contact with anyone under the age of 18. Fernando is also barred from using social media, texting, and the internet, according to the court order.

The Palm Beach County School District has not responded to our requests for comment.
