BELLE GLADE, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — A driver was killed in a crash involving a Nissan Altima and an International truck on Duda Road in Belle Glade, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.
The crash happened at 6:19 a.m. on May 21, 2026, in the 900 block of Duda Road. PBSO listed the fatality time as 6:19 a.m., the same time as the crash.
According to the crash report, the person who died was driving a 2016 Nissan Altima. PBSO did not release the driver’s name in the provided report. Investigators said visual identification was not possible at the scene because of the injuries sustained in the crash, and next of kin had not been notified at the time of the report.
The other driver was identified by PBSO as Adolfo Gonzalez-Sanchez, who was driving a 1998 International truck. The report listed his injuries as minor.
PBSO investigators said the Altima was traveling south in the 900 block of Duda Road in the northbound lane of travel. The International truck was traveling north in the same block.
The front of the Altima struck the front of the truck, according to the crash narrative.
During the collision, PBSO said the front axle of the truck was broken from its mounts and pushed back toward the rear axle as the truck overrode the Altima. As the Altima under-rode the truck, its hood and roof were peeled rearward, and the Altima’s driver was struck by the front right portion of the truck’s bumper, according to the report.
Investigators also said a large portion of the truck’s load of corn shifted and came off the truck during the crash.
After the impact, the truck continued northbound and came to a final rest facing north in the northbound lane, according to PBSO. The Altima was redirected back northward and off the west side of the roadway. PBSO said the Altima rotated clockwise before coming to a final rest facing south on the shoulder.
The Altima driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
