UPDATE

Wildflower Park is now officially open! As Boca Post previously reported, the park was scheduled to open to the public this morning and it did. Boca Raton’s newest waterfront park is now open.

Reported FIRST By Boca Post

BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) — The City of Boca Raton tells Boca Post that Wildflower Park, the city’s newest waterfront park, will open on Saturday, October 22nd, 2022.

Construction of Wildflower Park, part of the City’s Waterfront Master Plan, began in January 2021 with the installation of a new seawall and underground utilities. Additional amenities and features incorporated into the park include:

  • Pedestrian Walkways
  • Event Lawn
  • Waterfront Seating
  • Art Sculptures and Play Art
  • Interactive Water Feature
  • Pavilion and Restroom
  • New Seawall
  • Picnic Seating
  • Enhanced Landscaping
  • Pedestrian Promenade
  • Connection to Silver Palm Park
  • Parking

“Wildflower’s opening is the most prominent addition to our waterfront park master plan. After years of planning and work, we are excited that we now have a six-acre urban green space that builds the link from our downtown to our oceanfront. Boca Raton is renowned for our green spaces, and we continue placemaking with great improvements,” commented Mayor Scott Singer.

The park’s name was determined by a community vote and refers to a former restaurant on the site known as the Wildflower. The site has long been referred to by the community as the Wildflower property.

The opening of Wildflower Park follows the renovations of the adjacent Silver Palm Park, which opened to the public in July 2022. The newly enhanced park features a renovated boat ramp area with a new floating dock and two dedicated boat ramps, a reconstructed seawall, a new fish cleaning station, a fishing dock and restrooms, additional parking for vehicles and trailers, pedestrian paths and seating, and public art installation. The parks are located at the north and south sides of the Palmetto Park Road Bridge and are now connected via a lit pedestrian walkway under the bridge.

The total cost of the entire project was $8,998,278.
