WESTLAKE, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2024) — An acreage teen was killed in a motorcycle crash in Westlake on Saturday evening.

The deadly crash happened at the intersection of Seminole Pratt Whitney Road & Town Center Parkway North at 7:49 PM on Saturday, November 30th, 2024, according to PBSO.

Isaac Arnaldo Mendoza Rojas, 28, was driving a Tesla southbound on Seminole Pratt Whitney Rd in the left turn lane for Town Center Parkway North.

At the same time, Derek Hedrill Machin, 18, was driving a Kawasaki Ninja northbound on Seminole Pratt Whitney Rd in the outside lane, approaching Town Center Parkway North at a high rate of speed

According to deputies, that is when Rojas began to make a left turn into the path of Machin’s motorcycle.

The front of Machin’s motorcycle impacted the passenger’s side front fender of Rojas’ Tesla. As the crash ensued, the motorcycle rotated counterclockwise and came to an uncontrolled final rest within the outside northbound lane of Seminole Pratt Whitney Road.

Machin was ejected from the motorcycle and came to rest north of the area of impact.

Machin was pronounced deceased on scene by Palm Beach County Fire Rescue personnel. Rojas was transported by Trauma Hawk to St. Mary’s Medical Center with minor injuries.

  1. I own two motorcycles……selling both as these out of towners move from Northern areas to South Florida. They suck at driving and not respecting the riders…..right of way.
