Palm Beach Polo Club Socialite Arrested For Domestic Battery
Norka Aron Arrested For Domestic Battery. State Drops Charges.
UPDATE – State Attorney Drops Charges
The Palm Beach County State Attorney has dropped the charges against Norka Aron, claiming:
Insufficient evidence exists to prove the charges beyond a reasonable doubt due to an uncooperative victim and lack of independent evidence.
WELLINGTON, FL – Boca Post (BocaPost.com) — The state has dropped all charges against a Wellington socialite who was arrested for allegedly punching her 77-year-old husband several times earlier this week.
Norka Aron, 49, from Sheltingham Drive in Palm Beach Polo Club of Wellington, has been arrested Friday evening by Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office. Boca Post has been notified that the charges filed include “BATTERY – ON PERSON 65 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER” and “RESIST OFFICER – OBSTRUCT WO VIOLENCE”
According to an arrest report obtained by Boca Post, Deputies were called to Aron’s Palm Beach Polo Club home for a domestic disturbance where they found Norka’s 77-year-old husband, Robert Aron, battered with blood on his face.
Deputies spoke to Robert who said the two got into an argument after getting home from dinner. Robert told deputies that the argument escalated to Norka striking him multiple times in the face and head. Deputies report that they observed blood and injuries to the 77-year-old’s face.
Robert then showed deputies where the master bedroom was and told them that Norka has locked herself inside. Deputies asked Norka to come out of the bedroom but she did not. Robert unlocked the door for the deputies who then found Norka laying on her bed. Norka was asked to get up from the bed but she did not. Deputies report that they assisted Norka to the ground where she continued to resist arrest. Norka was then taken into custody and escorted to the PBSO jail where she was charged with “BATTERY – ON PERSON 65 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER” and “RESIST OFFICER – OBSTRUCT WO VIOLENCE”.
Aron was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail at 2:55 on Saturday morning. Norka was released later in the afternoon on a $6,000 bond.
While a judge found probable cause, court records show that the state has since dropped all charges against Norka citing the following:
Insufficient evidence exists to prove the charge beyond a reasonable doubt due to an uncooperative victim and lack of independent evidence.
Sheriff and Clerk of Court were ordered to rescind the no contact order.
Boca Post has inquired about this case but has not yet heard back from the Office Of The State Attorney, 15th Judicial Circuit, led by Dave Aronberg.
