Two Men From Delray Beach Die In Helicopter Crash

PBSO identifies the two occupants of the downed helicopter as Delray Beach residents Richard Preiser (71) and Thomas Stout (65).

PBSO tells us that the crash site was secured overnight by FWC and PBSO as the aircraft is in a very difficult area to get to without specialized equipment.
PBCFR is responding today with a Hazmat team to recover the deceased. The scene will be turned over to NTSB after PBSO detectives and crime scene investigators finish their investigation.
ORIGINAL STORY
LOXAHATCHEE, FL – Boca Post (BocaPost.com) — Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office tells Boca Post that they have located the crash site of a helicopter that went off radar at about 4:30 PM on March 18th, 2022.
Initial reports from PBSO say that PBSO used their helicopter a/k/a ‘Eagle’ to assist in locating a helicopter that was last seen on radar approximately yesterday at 4:30 PM.
The Sheriff’s helicopter was able to locate what they believe to be the wreckage of the missing helicopter in the Corbett area west of Seminole Pratt Whitney Road in Loxahatchee, FL.
PBSO tells us that the wreckage was located at about 9:00 PM. Deputies from the Wildlands unit were dispatched and confirmed that both occupants of the helicopter were deceased. PBSO notified NTSB and the FAA who will assume the lead on the crash investigation.
