GUILTY: Former Riviera Beach Police Officer Accused Of Sex Crimes Pleads Guilty, Off To Prison
Former Officer Marc Joseph Pleads Guilty, Sentenced Two Years In Prison
RIVIERA BEACH, FL – Boca Post (BocaPost.com) — A former Riviera Beach Police Officer accused of unlawful sexual activity with a minor has pleaded guilty and has been sentenced to 2 years in prison for the 2019 relationship the former officer had with a 17-year-old girl he met on the job.
Marc Joseph was working as a Police Officer in Riviera Beach when he met the 17-year-old girl at her home as he was responding to a call for service. Joseph, who was 28 at the time, later returned to the home and exchanged numbers with the teenage girl. An inappropriate sexual relationship followed and the two reportedly engaged in unlawful (for him) sexual activity.
Later, when the girl didn’t receive some gifts Joseph had promised, she went to the Police and reported the activity. Joseph was subsequently arrested and later fired in late 2019. Just this week, Joseph pleaded not guilty and will now receive a two-year sentence in a Florida prison. Joseph will now also be registered as a sexual predator for the rest of his life.
Joseph is currently in the custody of the PBSO jail where he will wait for FDOC to pick him up to start his sentence.
