A large law enforcement response was seen near Via Delray Blvd in unincorporated Delray Beach late on Wednesday night. PBSO tells Boca Post that deputies responded to a a welfare check on the 5600 block of Via Delray Blvd just after 11:30 PM when they found a suicidal 18-year-old male with a firearm.

Deputies say that they were trying to build rapport with the teen when he pulled a firearm from his side, pointing it at his own head. The teen then continued walking towards the canal near Via Delray Blvd. The teen then entered the canal, which was about waist deep, as deputies continued to try to talk him down.
