Detectives with the Broward Sheriff’s Office Traffic Homicide Unit are investigating a single-vehicle motorcycle crash that left a man dead in Weston Sunday morning. 
At approximately 7:38 a.m., Sunday, July 17, BSO Weston District deputies, BSO’s Dive Team, and Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue responded to a call reporting a body floating in a canal near the 100 block of Bonaventure Boulevard in Weston. BSO Dive Team members retrieved the body of an adult male from the water. The victim was pronounced deceased on the scene. 
BSO Homicide and Crime Scene detectives responded. On scene, investigators found motorcycle parts but didn’t locate a motorcycle. The preliminary investigation revealed the death could be related to a crash. BSO Homicide notified BSO Traffic Homicide Unit detectives who responded to the scene. During their investigation, they uncovered evidence indicating a vehicle was heading towards the water. BSO Dive Team members retrieved a Can-Am Three – Wheel Motorcycle from the canal. 
The preliminary investigation revealed the motorcycle driver was traveling northbound on Bonaventure Boulevard in the outside lane. As the roadway curved right, the driver failed to negotiate the turn, striking the center median before crossing both southbound lanes. The driver then drove across the west sidewalk and grass shoulder before hitting a tree. Following the impact with the tree, both driver and motorcycle plunged into the canal.
The investigation continues.

WESTON, FL – Boca Post (BocaPost.com) — Broward Sheriff’s Office Traffic Homicide Unit detectives are investigating the scene where a body was found in Weston early Sunday morning.

From BSO:

At approximately 7:39 a.m., Broward County Regional Communications received a call reporting a body floating in the water near Bonaventure Boulevard and Racket Club Road in Weston. Broward Sheriff’s Office district deputies and Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue responded. BSO Dive Team was also alerted and located an unresponsive adult male in the water. Paramedics pronounced the victim deceased on scene. BSO Traffic Homicide Unit detectives were notified and are investigating the circumstances surrounding this death.

The investigation continues.
