Explosion Injures 4, Damages Homes, Cars

WEST PARK, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2023) — 4 people were hospitalized after a a home explosion in West Park overnight.

On Tuesday, December 19, around 12;34 a.m., Broward County Regional Communications received reports of a blast in the 5200 block of Southwest 20th Street in West Park.

Deputies from the Broward Sheriff’s Office and Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue quickly responded to the scene.

Upon arrival, they discovered smoke and debris from a residence affected by the explosion. Firefighters immediately began searching for any individuals who might have been inside the house, while deputies worked on evacuating nearby residences for safety reasons. As a result of the explosion, four people were injured and taken to nearby hospitals for treatment. The blast also caused damage to several homes and cars in the vicinity.

The State Fire Marshal is currently investigating what led to the explosion.
