Drowning – 6-Year-Old Drowns In A Tamarac Canal
TAMARAC, FL – Boca Post (BocaPost.com) — A 6-year-old boy drowned in a Tamarac canal on Saturday, February 25th, 2023.
According to the Broward Sheriff’s Office, Homicide Unit detectives are investigating the drowning death of a 6-year-old child in Tamarac.
Shortly after 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 25, Broward Regional Communications received a call regarding a missing endangered child in the 100 block of Ann Lee Lane in Tamarac. BSO deputies and Tamarac Fire Rescue responded to the scene. The child was located in a nearby canal. Deputies pulled the drowning victim out of the water and immediately began lifesaving measures. BSO’s Aviation Unit also responded and transported the child to a nearby hospital. The child was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
BSO’s Homicide and Crime Scene units responded to the scene and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
At this time, foul play is not suspected.
