25-10-10 Date: Oct. 16  2025 MEDIA NOTE: The victim’s brother is urging anyone who might know the suspect’s identity to step forward. The interview can be found HERE. Because the investigation remains active and the assault was especially brutal the family has asked to stay out of the spotlight. Detectives with the Broward Sheriff’s Office are appealing to the community for help in pinpointing the individual who delivered a violent sucker‑punch to a man at a grocery store, in Lauderdale Lakes last Saturday. Law enforcement officials say that a handful of minutes after 7:20 p.m. On Oct. 11 BSO deputies rolled out to the Aldi at 3301 North State Road 7 after a battery was reported. Their follow‑up probe revealed the suspect—visible in the store’s CCTV stills and the attached video—had a spat with the victim, inside the aisles. After the argument the suspect slipped out of the building. Lingered, waiting for the victim to emerge. The video captures the split‑second when the victim steps out with his dog only to be blindsided by a sucker‑punch. The victim fell backward hit his head and sustained serious injuries. Anyone with information about the suspect’s identity is asked to call BSO Detective Karina Hernandez at 954-321-4236 or send a tip through the SaferWatch app. For those preferring anonymity and a cash reward reach out to Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS (8477) visit browardcrimestoppers.org or dial **TIPS (8477) from any cellphone, in the United States. If a tip you give leads to an arrest you could receive a reward of, up to $5,000. INVESTIGATORS: VCU Det. K. Hernandez (BSO CID) VCU Sgt. J. Hyppolite (BSO CID).
