Around noon, Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a report of a shooting at the Extended Stay America located at 3873 West Commercial Blvd. in Tamarac. On scene, deputies located two dogs that had been shot and killed. The preliminary investigation revealed that two dogs were attacking two other dogs. The owner of the dogs that were being attacked shot the other two dogs. The individual who shot his weapon is an off-duty Lauderhill Police Department officer. BSO’s Special Victims and Crime Scene units responded to investigate. The investigation is active and ongoing.
