PEMBROKE PARK, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2023) — Detectives are investigating a hit-and-run crash that killed a woman in Pembroke Park on Friday, April 28th, 2023.
According to the Broward Sheriff’s Office, the Traffic Homicide Unit is investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash that occurred in the Town of Pembroke Park on Friday, April 28.
At approximately 4 p.m. that Friday, the driver of an orange 2015 Toyota RAV4 hatchback was traveling eastbound on Pembroke Road, approaching the intersection of Park Road. At the same time, the driver of a blue 2011 Toyota Camry sedan was traveling westbound on Pembroke Road in the designated left turn lane to head southbound on Park Road. As the RAV4 approached the intersection, the Camry turned left into the path of the hatchback and was struck in a T-bone-style collision.
When the vehicles came to a final rest, bystanders attempted to render aid to the occupants of the Camry. Detectives say the driver and a passenger in that vehicle fled the scene on foot.
Another passenger in the Camry was transported to Memorial Regional Hospital by Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue and pronounced deceased. The driver of the RAV4 was evaluated on scene by paramedics and deemed uninjured.
BSO’s Traffic Homicide Unit is investigating the circumstances surrounding the hit-and-run crash at the request of the Town of Pembroke Park Police Department.
