UPDATE:

Following extensive DNA testing, Broward Sheriff’s Office Homicide Unit detectives have confirmed the identities of the individuals located in the landing gear area of a JetBlue aircraft on Jan. 6 at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. The individuals have been identified as:

Jeik Aniluz Lusi, male, 4/7/2006

Elvis Borques Castillo, male, 8/26/2008

ORIGINAL ALERT FROM JAN. 7:

Around 11:30 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 6, Broward Sheriff’s Office Airport District deputies responded to a call regarding two individuals found in the landing gear area of a JetBlue aircraft at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue also responded. On scene, paramedics pronounced both individuals deceased. BSO’s Homicide and Crime Scene units responded to investigate the circumstances of the incident, and the investigation is ongoing. The Broward County Medical Examiner’s Office will perform autopsies to determine the causes of death of both individuals.
